law enforcement in Tulsa, Oklahoma

I was born in the caribbean island nation of Jamaica. I am the eldest of 5 children, now 4 since one of my sisters died a few years ago. I lived there through high school and then migrated to the US where I have lived now for over 30 years. I am married to the former Sandra Musick, also a veteran, Navy. My two children Nichole and Jazmine were both born in Japan. Nichole in Yokosuka Naval Base in Tokyo, Japan. Jazmine was born in Okinawa, Japan at the Naval hospital there. My other 2 older adult children from an earlier marriage, were born in California. They now reside in New York City. I completed my MBA in 2013 and am now pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Phoenix. I am currently in a law enforcement career and am looking to expand my horizons in a business or higher education institution.

I am retired Marine after 22 years of faithful service. I am a fitness buff and a personal trainer. These days I train myself mostly and offer advice when asked. I would love to act in a military of police movie or TV program someday. I think if a lot of these new guys can do it, so can I. I love music and would love to dance more than I do which is almost never.

As I journey through my doctoral studies I find that my theories on leadership, of which I am a big proponent, was limited mostly because of where I learned of it and practiced it. I think leadership is quite more valuable to an organization than management. The depth and different dimensions of leadership and resulting philosophies is quite vast. I hope to parlay that knowledge and my doctorate in Organizational Leadership to helping organizations develop better leaders.

Last year I applied to a professional fellowship program entitled the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF). The application process was detailed and I was lucky enough to be selected as a semi-finalist. I had to go to DC for an intense interview/assessment process and thanks to my cousin Ian for tolerating me for that process. Well, needless to say the finalist were selected and I got the official email informing me that I made said list. This is the most remarkable professional achievement for me to date and I hope to continue this level of success in whatever field I end up as a Fellow. I still have to be hired by an agency for my final fellowship status, so it's not over yet!
