Fluent in Mandarin, Dr. Mark Fung has spent many years studying both law and Chinese relations and affairs. He belongs to the Council on Foreign Relations and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. Dr. Mark Fung also functioned as general counsel for financial institutions based in Beijing and Hong Kong and served as chief China researcher to Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, a prominent American political scientist and former national security adviser.

Dr. Mark Fung completed a bachelor’s degree in East Asian studies and politics at New York University. His educational background additionally includes a master of arts in international economics and strategic studies and a doctor of philosophy in China studies, both from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Fung is a fellow with the Harvard University Asia Center.

A practicing attorney based in Midtown Manhattan, he earned a juris doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He possesses more than two decades of experience in commercial and corporate law and holds membership in the Asian American Bar Association of New York.
