Mark Gately
Newton, Massachusetts
Hi, my name is Mark Gately and I am currently a graduating senior from Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I recently secured a job with Commodore Builders as an Estimating Intern, which could potentially lead to an Assistant Project Manager position in the future. I got into Construction Management my sophomore year of college when I first started my Building and Construction Management minor and I new I had a true passion for it. I have been doing construction work as a laborer for all of my life with LAG Home Improvements, Fences by Legge and Sons, and G.E. Bourque and Sons Construction. It never really hit me that I had the experience and qualifications to become a Construction Manager with a college degree. When I finally realized this, I knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I have a true passion for it, and it makes going to work an enjoyable experience. Over the past summer, I completed an summer internship with Pilot Construction as a Construction Management Intern where we were building two 60 units apartment buildings, a $20 million project. This internship experience really assured me that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life and it was a great introduction into the Construction Management world. I am excited and eager to begin my new career, where my passion lies, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for me.
