Author, speaker, coach and private money expert Mark Hanf teaches real estate investors how to find and attract private money lenders and investors — even when they have no real estate investment experience.
Mark is broker and president of Pacific Private Money Loans, one of the fastest-growing hard money loan brokers in the Bay Area. Founded in 2008, Mark took his company from zero to nearly $100 million in loan originations in just four years. Uncovering the secrets to gaining access to unlimited cash, Mark has attracted more than 400 private investors to his lending business. Since its inception in 2008, Pacific funded over 500 private money loans, many of them “fix & flip” loans to Northern California rehabbers and flippers. Known as the “Private Money Guy”, Mark is a regular speaker at real estate events throughout the Bay Area, and can be heard weekly speaking about the real estate market as co-host of the 1-hour radio show “The Best of Investing” on 910AM KKSF.
Mark began his career in real estate in 1982. For 25 years Mark was responsible for buying, selling, financing and managing residential and commercial real estate for a closely held company in the Bay Area. He earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus in finance and accounting from Menlo School of Business Administration. During his career as a real estate principal, he became an expert at using leverage to execute real estate strategies, successfully closing over 100 purchase and refinance loans, ranging from $100,000 to $7,500,000.
He is an expert at property valuation, mortgage lending and all those complex, new lender compliance laws. His strength with numbers and attention to detail, coupled with years of hands-on transactional experience makes him especially skilled at evaluating loan scenarios and originating sensible private money loans for the company’s growing list of private individual investors.
