Mark Heyert

With more than two decades of experience in marketing, brand management and general management, Mark Heyert has built and revived businesses through steadfast leadership and a keen understanding of consumer behavior. Mark's vision of a new media company led to the founding of Viumbe. He was appointed Viumbe's General Manager in December 2009. Under his leadership, the company: • Successfully emerged from the ashes of a failed business, growing fast and profitably into a global media businesses • Is changing the business model to one that focuses on consumer tastes, innovation in media creation, distribution and brand building Previously, during an 18-year career in the music industry, Mark built sales and market share for several independent music labels, including Fuel, Oglio, Ubiquity and Liquid8. His early career was spent in various sales roles in music distribution for Navarre Corporation before he transitioned to senior marketing roles for record labels. Mark is a 1987 graduate of Hobart College with a degree in Philosophy. He earned his MBA in 2001 from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. He is active as an adviser to the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco STARfish Aquatics swim program.
