Dr. Mark Hornfeld

An ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery with multifocal intraocular lens implant, Dr. Mark L. Hornfeld, DO, brings more than 20 years of professional experience to the field. Dr. Mark L. Hornfeld laid the groundwork for a successful practice with a BS in Biology from the State University of New York at Albany in 1984, continuing his education at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at Westbury, New York, where he received his DO in 1988.

Following graduation, Dr. Mark L. Hornfeld completed an internship at Brooklyn Jewish/Interfaith Medical Center. Dr. Hornfeld?s hospital training led to a one-year residency, followed by a medical oncology fellowship at NYC?s Cabrini Medical Center. Dr. Hornfeld?s training continued at Saint Vincent?s Hospital and Medical Center, New York, where he completed his ophthalmology residency in October 1995 before progressing to Ophthalmology Chief Resident, also at St. Vincent?s Hospital.

In addition to his busy private practice, which opened after completion of his residency in 1996, Dr. Hornfeld acts as Associate Attending Surgeon at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Attending Surgeon at Fifth Avenue SurgiCenter, and Surgeon at MacKool Eye Institute.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Mark L. Hornfeld spent two months in Madurai, India, during the spring of 1996. During this time, Dr. Hornfeld donated his time and skill as ophthalmic surgeon at Aravind Eye Hospital.

Dr. Mark Hornfeld is a Fellow at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and a member of the New York Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons.
