Mark Huxley

Mark Huxley is a strong leader with over 20 years experience in information technology, project management, software development and business analysis.

Mark has led and managed teams across diverse groups including operations, strategy, process delivery, systems architecture, application development, web development, production, technical support and maintenance. Mark previously served as the VP of Information Technology at financial services software provider Webtech Consulting where he was instrumental in the managing of a multitude of concurrent projects responsible for generating more than $1.3m in revenue in 2011 and projected revenue in excess of $2.5m in 2012.

Prior to Webtech, Mark served as the Technical Advisor and Practice Lead at the University of Lethbridge, and as an independent consultant for government and private industry.

Before immigrating to Canada, Mark served as an Operations Support Project Manager for British multinational banking and financial services company Barclays Bank. While at Barclays, he was responsible for product concepts and rolled out proof of concept financial applications to select branches prior to network-wide implementation. Mark's work led to the realization of millions of dollars (pound sterling) in new business opportunities in addition to extensive cost savings across the entire Barclays organization.

With a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and service management methodologies such as the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Mark is adept at communicating with all stakeholders in the business from the practitioner to the boardroom.

Mark is experienced in higher education, financial services, government, retail and technology verticals and has achieved a detailed understanding of the business requirements, challenges and unique customer needs across diverse industries. Mark is equally adept in meeting with clients as he is dealing with key business stakeholders within the organization. Through his years as an independent consultant, Mark has honed his expertise in the gathering of customer requirements, effective planning of projects and proper resource allocation to ensure project delivery on time and within budget.

Mark holds a B.SC. in Computer Science from John Moores University, Liverpool, a BTEC National Diploma in Computer Studies in addition to being a SOA Certified Professional (SOACP).
