Mark James, CEO and President of Frias Holding Company in Las Vegas, brings to the position a wealth of knowledge and experience about business, law, and public service. After graduating with high distinction from the James E. Rogers School of Law at the University of Arizona, Mark James joined the bar in the states of Texas and Nevada. He practices business law and is certified to appear before the U. S. District Court for Nevada and the Southern District of Texas and also before the Fifth and Ninth Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Mark James went on to represent the Las Vegas area as a State Senator for five straight sessions. James was a distinguished legislator widely respected by his peers and chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee from 1993 to 2001. Following his career in the State Senate, Mark James worked as a Clark County Commissioner from 2002 to 2004 before returning to private practice. In 2007, Phyllis Frias, widow of Charlie Frias, with whom she built and operated Frias Holding Company, asked James to take over daily operations of the business as its CEO. Since his involvement with the company, Mark James has been able to increase the efficiency of service to the people of Las Vegas and the surrounding areas, as well as to the employees at five taxi companies, a shuttle company and a limousine service owned by Frias.

A committed philanthropist, as well, Mark James has contributed his time and financial resources to a number of Las Vegas area nonprofit groups and charitable organizations. James has been a member of the advisory board of the Clark County Public Education Foundation, the Desert Research Institute, the Actors Repertory Theatre Board of Directors, and the Statewide Advisory Council on Water Resources Research. James has served as the President of the Las Vegas Branch of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association. In addition to the endowed grants and scholarships that he has helped to support, he contributes to the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
