Mark Kobine
United Kingdom
Mark Kobine is Technician and Tutor at Edinburgh College of Art in the Design Informatics department. He also designs and makes products and furniture and is currently co-authoring a book on Design Research Methods. Studying at ECA he gained first class honours and Masters in Product Design and has exhibited in Edinburgh, Glasgow, at the Scottish Parliament and, more recently, in London at the V&A. He is particularly interested in materiality, our relationship to that material and uses a process that emphasises immediacy and making. In 2011 he won the DHS essay prize for confusing Heidegger and the TV remote control - one of which is down the back of his sofa.
