Mark Lorenzana

Writer and Editor in Mexico City

Mark Lorenzana is a former copywriter and current freelance copyeditor from the Philippines, with more than twenty years' combined experience in both writing and editing. He has worked for various companies across a wide range of industries including journalism, marketing, book publishing, e-commerce, and e-learning. Mark was born in Metro Manila and raised in Cebu, where he attended the University of San Jose-Recoletos and earned his degree in Communication and Marketing, as well as dabbled in postgraduate studies (Master of Media Studies).

His stints as correspondent, news editor, and eventually editor in chief for the student paper back in college eventually led to a side gig as lifestyle columnist in one of Cebu City’s English-language community newspapers; and his old, now-defunct boxing and MMA blog, Pinoy Fight Scribe—a finalist for Best Sports Blog in the 2010 Philippine Blog Awards—earned him a spot as sports columnist for a Philippine online news portal. He has also written essays for various sports websites, including FightHype, 8CountNews, and Bleacher Report.

Mark currently lives in Mexico City, Mexico.
