Writer and Editor in Mexico City
Mark Lorenzana is a Filipino writer, editor, and English teacher. He has worked for various companies across a wide range of industries including journalism, marketing, book publishing, e-commerce, outsourcing, e-learning, and English as a second language (ESL). Mark was born in Manila and raised in Cebu, the Philippines, where he attended the University of San Jose-Recoletos and earned his degree in Communication and Marketing, as well as dabbled in postgraduate studies (Master of Media Studies).
His stints as correspondent, news editor, and editor in chief for the student paper back in college eventually led to a freelance job as feature writer and lifestyle columnist in one of Cebu City’s English-language community newspapers; an earlier version of his boxing and MMA blog—a finalist for Best Sports Blog in the 2010 Philippine Blog Awards—earned him a spot as sports columnist for a Philippine online news portal. He has also written essays and news stories for various websites, including FightHype, 8CountNews, Bleacher Report, and Pulse News Mexico.
Mark is currently based in Mexico City.
