Hi all. I’m Mark Love, and am currently a senior at the University of Southern California majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Marketing. I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee – the Blues City – where my affinity for news and television developed.

Originally, I envisioned a career as a broadcast journalist for a news station, but after an internship at the assignment desk, I decided to shift gears and focus on paving a way into the media and entertainment industry. The media attributes to everyone's perception to aspects of the world. Anything that someone has not encountered firsthand will reference something on television for guidance and understanding, and I want to help in projecting accurate depictions of all people from all cultures – especially those whose experiences are rarely told.

Aside from media, my other interests derive from experiences in my personal life. My family history of diabetes and other heath issues spawned my enthusiasm for fitness and nutrition. I was determined to break the cycle of preventable diseases, and try to spread the importance to my family and friends. I've seen my friends use music as an expression and release of emotions, so I appreciate the artistry of the music industry. In addition, I have witnessed, researched, and experienced firsthand the flaws in our society and think tirelessly about impending change. I am an advocate for civil rights, environmental protection, and mental health, and want to use the role of media to give these issues some light.

Lastly, please feel free to peruse my portfolio of blog entries I've written as a Student Writer at USC. My posts covered topics from Hollywood to social media management.
