Working as a Director, Director of Photography, and as an Editor for Commercials, DRTV and Music Videos for the last decade, Mark Mannschreck is making the move back to his passion, Narrative Film.
As a Director of Photography, a short list of his commercial projects include Chrysler, Coca-Cola, Skechers, Kraft, Harley Davidson, Westfield, and Fender Guitars - including the Gretsch, Jackson, and EVH brands. As a side note, when Mark shot a long form commercial for the "EVH", the creator of the guitar, Eddie Van Halen" , impressed with the spot, asked Mark to shoot his wedding. Avoiding wedding photography for most of his professional life, but growing up a fan... Mark made an exception.
In addition, Mark has been lensing numerous music videos and concert films for a wide range of artists such as John Legend, Keyshia Cole, The Backstreet Boys, Griffith Frank, Timbaland, and TV on the Radio (nominated for a 2012 grammy - best long form music video)
Recently in the narrative arena, Mark has completed 4 short films: Barackula: The Musical, Amongst Friends, Becoming, Somebody, and Solidarity starring Elpidia Carrillo. Mark shot the "angel sequences" with Michael McKean, Cheech Marin, and Bronson Pinchot as DP Special Effects for Christopher Cain's Pure Country 2... and shot Eric Balfour and Lindsay Pulsipher in one of the 5 short stories that make up the Feature Narrative film "Do Not Disturb".
Mark graduated from the University of Arizona (BFA Film/Television) on a full Regent's Scholarship. He was born in Nebraska and raised in Chicagoland. Mark has lived and worked in Los Angeles since 1992. He also enjoys playing Drums in his LA based band "Plastic Slap" which has headlined such Hollywood Music Venues as the House of Blues and the Whisky A Go-Go, and raising his 5 year old son, Christian.
