Father / Husband / Surfer / Promoter of Good
I'm a seasoned digital professional, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and the B Corp mantra of "using business as a force for good," whose career lives at the intersection of cause & commerce.
As the Director of Partnership Development with FlipGive, I'm a principal in the development of "give-marketing," a platform and marketing program connecting brands to their target audience through grassroots fundraising. I developed and own the brand acquisition channel, managing a large portfolio - from startups to Fortune 100 companies - that has delivered multi-millions in sales and give-back to causes.
Prior to joining Toronto based FlipGive, I worked in the actions sports & outdoor industry as the Director of eCommerce and the Coordinator for Corporate Social Responsibility efforts for SPY Optic and as the VP of Digital Marketing and Web Operations for Beckersurf.com.
With both a B.A. (UCSB) and M.A. (USD) in history, my scholastic background doesn't lend itself towards technology but I've become, since my beginnings in eCommerce in 2000, what Forbes has bestowed upon the liberal arts set in the tech arena, a "social alchemist who can connect with customers - and make progress seem pleasant". I have expanded on this 'social alchemy' as a strategic advisor to San Diego based TVPage, the leading video commerce network that allows brands & retailers to convert video to sales with video shopping and brand marketing.
Lastly, I'm a passionate advocate of environmental and social responsibility globally, continuously utilizing my understanding and connections within the surf industry, specifically, to grow awareness and action via my surfing and sustainability blog, The Greener Blue, and as a board member of the award winning non-profit, Sustainable Surf.
