Mark Mirocha

My love for photography started in the suburbs of Minneapolis when I borrowed my father's Canon AT-1 and a few rolls of film. I was immediately drawn to the calmness and sense of adventure that I felt when looking through the lens. The world opened up to me and I saw everything in a completely different light. Many years and many camera later, my love for photography has continued to evolve.

Now based in Portland, Oregon, I specialize in portrait and lifestyle photography, and shoot mostly in digital and color, while working with a variety of subjects. I have shot numerous weddings and special occassions and I specialize in candid, journalistic-style photography.

My style is inspired by capturing the essence of a subject's personality in their natural environment. It is absolutely vital to have a mutual trust between my subject and me in order to make a beautiful and honest portrait, and I work hard to cultivate this relationship. My portraits capture the fleeting moments that will last a lifetime.
