Mark Odougherty
Mark Odougherty is an advocate for travel and the exploration of world cultures whose journeys have taken him across the United States and to several international destinations. His U.S. excursions have included visits to Albuquerque, New Mexico; Phoenix, Arizona; Burlington, Vermont; New York City; Los Angeles, California; Daytona Beach, Florida; and other locations. His international travels have included trips to the United Kingdom, Italy, Barbados, and France. Mark Odougherty values travel not only for the experience of visiting new locales, but also to learn from other cultures, an important component of which is discovering the cuisine of foreign countries. His favorites include Argentinean chimichurri, Spanish paella, Thai poa pee, Greek spanakopita, Jamaican jerk chicken, and Indian pindichana. For nearly 20 years, Mark Odougherty led a successful career in sales. Shortly after earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Communications, Mr. Odougherty became a sales supervisor. He worked with physicians, surgeons, and pharmacists to promote numerous antibiotics as well as cough and cold medicines. During his tenure with his first employer, Mark Odougherty consistently earned national, district, and regional sales awards. Later, he became a district sales manager for another company, at which he led a team of sales personnel and created a comprehensive sales strategy that was adopted nationally. Most recently, Mark Odougherty has put his talents to work as an educator. In 2003, he became a high school teacher and enrolled in a Master’s degree program. While maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, he simultaneously led his classroom and earned a degree focused on teaching English and language arts. As an educator, Mark Odougherty concentrated on the creation of a positive environment that fostered optimum learning for his students. In his personal time, Mr. Odougherty enjoys reading, cycling, fishing, and spectator sports.
