Mark Ornstein Detroit is Vice President of School Operations at Second Mile Education, overseeing operational execution across 27 schools and a team of 600 plus. Based in Detroit, he works with campus leaders and support departments to keep schools safe and reliable, managing facilities, transportation, staffing coordination, and service continuity.

His career includes over two decades of executive leadership across public, private, and nonprofit education. That work has covered special education, dropout prevention, career and technical education, online K to 12 curriculum, and school improvement planning. He is comfortable operating where policy, funding, and compliance requirements intersect with building and staffing constraints. Clear routines help.
