Mark P. Miner, 32, of St. Augustine is a financial advisor and runs a financial services practice for Edward Jones in northern St. Augustine. In addition to his work as a financial advisor, he is a Florida Army National Guard helicopter pilot and two-time veteran of Operation Iraqi freedom, where he served as an Infantryman. He has been a member of the Florida Army National Guard since 2002 and continues his service today.

He is the former Chairman of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners. While on the Commission, Mark helped manage the reduction of the St. Johns County budget by more than twenty percent.

Before being elected to the County Commission Mark worked as a manager for CSX where he earned the CSX Chairman’s Award of Excellence, CSX’s highest employee honor.

He currently serves as the 2014-2015 Campaign Chair of the United Way of St. Johns County and vice president of the board of Home Again St. Johns. He is a member of the St. Johns County Veterans Council, Vilano Beach VFW Post 12142, American Legion Post 194, St. Augustine Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, the St. Augustine Rotary Club, and the St. Augustine Elks Lodge.

In the past he has served on the boards of the Early Learning Coalition, the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization, Northeast Florida Regional Transportation Study Commission, and the St. Johns County Recreation Advisory Board.

He has also served as a Teenage Republican, a Young Republican, and spent over ten years as a member of the St. Johns County Republican Executive Committee including service on the Executive Board as Corresponding Secretary. He was Mitt Romney’s 2012 St. Johns County Campaign Co-Chair as well as his 2008 St. Johns County Veterans Chair.

Mark lives in St. Augustine with his wife Cheryl and their two young sons, Mark and Bennett. Mark and his wife went to Bartram Trail High School. He earned his bachelors degree in business administration from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Mark is an advocate for conservative principles.
