Mark Prince Superintendent

Possessing over 20 years of experience in educational instruction and administration, Mark Prince serves as the assistant superintendent at Framingham Public Schools. Mr Prince was directly involved in the development and opening of a ninth elementary school in the district. Currently, he oversees 8,200 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade, as well as 2,000 employees and 60 administrators. In addition, he has collaborative oversight of a $102 million operating budget and $3.9 million in grant funds.

In his previous position as the interim superintendent of Gill-Montague Regional Schools, Mark Prince set aside $200,000 in resources to support classrooms through strategic budgeting. As an educational specialist for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in 2010, Mr. Prince provided valuable input on the state’s Race to the Top Application and helped secure a $250 million grant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was also one of 300 applicants selected from a pool of 1,400 to review Investment In Innovation (i3) grant applications.

Over the course of his career, Mark Prince has served as a teacher and principal. Actively involved in his profession, he is a member of the Association of Multicultural Education and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents.
