Mark Thysell

Mark Thysell is an emerging composer based in New York City. He enjoys writing in many styles, but most often finds himself composing contemporary art music.

At Duke University, he earned a bachelors degree with High Distinction in Music with a focus on composition. In addition to many purely musical compositions, he has completed 7 scores for the same number of short multimedia projects (narrative films, dance films, and advertisements). Each of these projects was an opportunity to write in different musical styles including tango, jazz, modern, religious, and acoustic/independent. He is excited to continue to explore these and other styles.
