While teaching and coaching in Ireland, Australia and the US, my philosophy of education has been shaped by experiences within my own life, education, and teaching career. As I continue in teaching, I know that as a lifelong learner my philosophy will continue to evolve. Through weekly self-appraisals, I analyze every aspect of my teaching and how I can improve on it. This practice strengthens all aspects of my teaching and its affects on students’ learning and understanding. My mission is to inspire students to be creative, compassionate and to take responsibility for their own learning. I believe that a classroom is a community of learners which respects individual thought, caters for multiple intelligences, and acknowledges that students learn in their own unique ways.

Additionally, I am always keen to provide innovative ways to integrate technology into the classroom. In my opinion, the effective use of technology positively impacts school culture, enhances communication and collaboration, provides individual learning experiences, and helps teachers be more efficient.
