Markus Wagner
Web Developer, Consultant, and Small Business Owner in Berlin Germany
Hi, I'm Markus Wagner — an Online Marketing Manager based in Munich, Germany, originally from Utrecht in the Netherlands.
I studied communication and business in the Netherlands before moving to Germany, where I've spent the past 11 years working in online marketing with a focus on organic growth. Over that time I've worked across SEO, content strategy, and analytics for companies of very different sizes, which taught me one consistent lesson: most marketing advice sounds great in a slide deck and falls apart in the numbers. So I write and talk about what actually moves the metrics, not what's fashionable.
These days I work at ExhibitorLens (exhibitorlens.com), where we help companies get more out of trade fairs and exhibitions. Trade shows are one of the last big marketing channels that still run largely on gut feeling — teams spend five- and six-figure budgets on a booth and come home with a stack of business cards and no real idea what worked. At ExhibitorLens we're changing that by bringing the same data-driven mindset to exhibitions that online marketing has had for years: understanding which events are worth attending, who's exhibiting where, and how to turn a fair appearance into measurable pipeline.
Outside of work you'll find me exploring Munich's beer gardens, following Dutch football with mild frustration, and occasionally getting lost in the Alps on a rented mountain bike.
If you want to talk shop about organic growth, exhibition marketing, or why your last trade fair didn't deliver, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or check out what we're building at ExhibitorLens.
