Mark Walters

Longtime online advertising and marketing manager Mark Walters began his professional career in 1992 as a Sales Executive at TMP Worldwide, an independent recruitment ad agency based in New York City. Two years later he accepted the position of Associate Publisher with Texas Business Magazine, where he worked for nearly three years. In 1996, Mark Walters joined Belo Corp.’s online division as Manager of Southern Regional Sales, for almost six years. At Belo Interactive Group, Mr. Walters supervised online advertising for Dallasnews.com and Guidelive.com. Early in 2001, Publicitas AG, a division of the multibillion-dollar global media corporation PubliGroupe Ltd., hired Mark Walters as Managing Director of Integrated Media for the U.S. market. The clients Mr. Walters and his division served over the next three years included USA TODAY, Bloomberg, Forbes, and MP3.com. Subsequently, he became Associate Publisher for Newsweek.com, where he built an integrated sales team, assisting the company for five and a half years. Mark Walters and his sales staff boosted advertising revenue by 50 percent each year of his tenure. Under his direction, the firm’s digital sales revenue for the mid-Atlantic region jumped to more than $600,000 in less than 3 years. In 2008, Mr. Walters moved to D&B Digital as Vice President of Online Advertising and Operations, a role in which he oversaw marketing activity for the Internet sites dnb.com, Hoovers.com, and AllBusiness.com. Since July 2010, Mark Walters has served as Senior Vice President for Advertising and Group Publisher at CQ Roll Call/The Economist Group. CQ Roll Call maintains the largest press corps on Capitol Hill for daily reporting of U.S. Congressional legislative activity. Parent company The Economist Group performs analysis of global business and political affairs, most famously through The Economist magazine. Because of his broad experience, Mark Walters often responds to requests to speak at industry events and in litigation relating to online advertising and business development.
