MARK WHALE
Mark Whale, PhD, works as a violinist, academic and teacher. Passionate about music, he is interested in communicating its relevance to the lives of his students and audiences – through his lectures, his performances, and his scholarship. Mark is currently teaching at the University of Toronto and at Humber College. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London and at the Musikhochschule, Freiburg, Germany. He moved to Toronto in 2004 with his family and completed his PhD in 2009. Trained as a classical musician, Mark plays a wide range of music including zigeuner jazz and Bosnian/Macedonian folk music.
