Marlin Soto-Valentin
Puerto Rico
Hello, my name is Marlin and I am an undergraduate student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. Since September 2013 I’m collaborating with a graduate student in a project to support the academic success of low income students as they prepare to enter college. This project is through the University Center for Access (CUA for its acronym in Spanish) which aims to conduct academic research and outreach activities related to low income students.
This summer (2014) I’m doing investigation in the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP). The investigation it’s about how we can improve health literacy in older adults in order to help them get better health outcomes. In the lab I’m working with Dr. Morrow and a few graduate students. My next goal, once I finished my bachelor, is to obtain a PhD. For that, I will be applying this fall to graduate school.
