Hello! My name is Marquetta Smith and I am a highly motivated domestic violence advocate and non-profit growth strategist. I love training & equipping organizations, their staff and the communities they serve on powerfully, pertinent topics like: Teen Dating Violence, Victims Advocacy, Child Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence Training For Teens, Victims & The Batterers They Love, Domestic Abuse Training for Faith-Based Organizations as well as, How Nonprofits Can Build and Mobilize Effective Volunteer Programs.

My Story:

In addition to nonprofit development, I have several passions in life, one of which is to see families heal from the effects of domestic violence and to ensure a brighter future for children effected by violence and abuse. Throughout my career, I have counseled many families and victims who suffered from some type of traumatic event in their life.

My career quickly took a turn when violence struck my home in 2003. I witnessed firsthand how domestic violence can have devastating effects on victims and can ultimately destroy families. By going through the painful steps of healing from the abuse me and my mother suffered; through training and workshop facilitation, I can now help victims come out of abusive situations and help clinicians provide effective counseling techniques such as ideology, impact and treatment approaches to children and victims of domestic violence.

It is my desire to see the whole family heal, that lead to me to my latest achievement of developing and implementing a Domestic Violence State Prison Batterers Intervention program and a support group for victims and children who have been in abusive relationships for a non-profit organization in Memphis TN.

I love life! Traveling, fine dining, movies, and spending time with family & friends are the things that make me smile.
