Marquita is also a casting professional working in Los Angeles. Over the years she has had the privilege of working on several commercials, documentaries, television shows, and feature films. She’s cast shows for various networks including TLC, OWN, Spike, and Discovery. Additionally, Marquita has worked on several films including 2012 Sundance Film Festival Documentary Selection/PBS Documentary "Slavery By Another Name", Tyler Perry Produced "Peeples", and "Abduction" directed by John Singleton to name a few.
Prior to casting, Marquita had a thriving career in the field of marketing. Upon graduating with honors from Howard University with a BBA, she worked at some of the top companies in the country including General Electric and Ogilvy and Mather. She has received recognition for her leadership and innovative contributions to the success of advertising campaigns for several brands including DuPont, Genworth Financial, KMART and SEARS.
In her spare time, Marquita takes pride in giving back to local and international communities. She is on the board of directors for Lighthouse Lands, a nonprofit organization dedicated to overcoming hunger and poverty in Haiti through sustainable solutions, collaboration, and education of Haitian farmers. Marquita is active with various programs with her sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and gives back through speaking engagements, mission trips, and volunteering. Marquita gives all praise and honor to God for her many gifts and talents. She wholeheartedly believes that "A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great" – Proverbs 18:16.
