Marsha Tyszler

Bronx, New York, United States

I'm a 33 year old female from The Bronx in NYC with a background in Early Childhood and Childhood Education, Higher Education, and Tutoring. In addition to seeing undergraduate and graduate students on a private basis, I am currently employed as a CRLA Certified Master Tutor at CUNY Lehman College. I mostly see students who are studying Sociology, Social Work, and Education. Moreover, I assist students from various disciplines with their writing, studying, and exam-taking skills. In addition to acting as a tutor who guides students towards becoming independent learners, I strive to mentor students with their academic and professional endeavors. Ultimately, I want my students to feel confident in their studies so they may to reach their full potential, whether they decide to attend graduate programs and/or esteemed careers.

I have also been disabled since a 2003 accident and have several debilitating diagnoses, including RSD/CRPS. Thus, I am actively involved in volunteering my time with several chronic pain organizations and patient mentoring.

Other than the above, I have very wide and ecclectic interests -- and though it's impossible to provide a complete list (you don't have that much time to hear the unabridged version, I promise!), a few examples include technology, the arts, music, etc. Family and friends are hugely important to me. I'm also an eternally positive dreamer. While my life took an unpexpected turn, I've made the best of it. No matter how much life gives me lemons, I just keep adding sugar . . . pounds and pounds of it! ;-p

I am always looking to network! Be in touch, but please understand that it sometimes takes me some time to return correspondence depending upon how I'm feeling (I appreciate your patience)!
