Marshall Amaldas

Marshall Amaldas is the Manager for IDC’s Server, Storage and Networking research programs in India and is also the principal analyst for the Storage market in India. The key focus for Marshall at IDC India is to roll out new research programs that are current and relevant to the fast evolving and converging IT infrastructure market place. In his previous role at IDC North America (Massachusetts, USA), Marshall served as the world wide lead analyst for Archiving software & SaaS archiving markets (a functional market under Storage Software) and also worked as the analyst covering IDC’s archival storage solutions research which includes disk storage systems designed for long term data retention, archival tape and hybrid solutions.

Mr. Amaldas has published multiple IDC market reports, white papers, case studies and supported his clients in various GTM activates. Marshall is a frequent round table host and presenter in industry forums such as IDC Directions, AIIM and SNW. During his stint at IDC US Marshall has played pivotal role in envisioning, launching and delivering IDC’s Email Archiving Pivot product and the Archival Storage Solution research program.

Prior to joining IDC Mr.Amaldas worked for uTest Inc (an innovative crowd-sourcing startup) as its online Community Manager and later as a Product Manager. As a Student Management Consultant at Bentley University he helped EMC develop the “Go to Market Strategy” for is Source One data archiving solution. Marshall holds an MBA from McCallum Graduate School of Business MA, USA where he also served as a research assistant in the University’s highly renowned Department of Human Factors in Information Design. In this role much of his focus was on research pertaining to pre-attentive consciousness and he co-authored and published research on pre-conscious assessment of trust. Marshall also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Computer Science from VTU Karnataka, India.
