Marsha Lovejoy

My passion for patient safety and advocacy and my experience in public relations have taught me many things. The most crucial, however, is the importance of clear and honest communication.

I currently manage the public relations department globally and set PR strategy for the Critical Care and Interventional Radiology divisions at Cook Medical. In addition, I work with patient safety organizations and individual patients to educate audiences about government patient safety initiatives, health literacy and healthcare-acquired infections, among other topics.

I am nearing completion on a master's degree in patient safety leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine.

I am particularly interested in patient safety and the use of social media to empower patients worldwide.
