MarshaMonelle (IslandEmpress) is no stranger to the stage and is a multi-faceted singer, media personality, beauty queen, educator and unforgettable host.
For the past twenty years, her passion for the performing arts coupled with a diverse and unforgettable personality for TV has grown tremendously. From being selected to perform back-up choir vocals for Whitney Houston at Lincoln Center to singing at Matthews Arena to TD Bank Garden in front of 17,000 people. Marsha is certainly on her quest for stardom in both the musical and communications arena.
Her journey to in the entertainment industry was an adventure that started when she won her first princess pageant in her native country. Born in Dominica, Marsha knew that when she moved to the New York, she would be a standout representation of her culture and sought out for musical growth. Valedictorian of Talent Unlimited, a performing arts high school in NYC, Marsha is classical trained and went on to complete her Bachelor's in Music Industry and obtained two Master's degrees from Northeastern University. This Boston-based artist is on to remarkeable things in 2013.
Since 2012 she has been hosting the 617Live TV Caribbean Scene and has interviewed Beres Hammond, Konshens, Shaggy, Morgan Heritage, Baby Cham, I Octane, Queen Ifrica, Gyptian, Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons, Kerwin Dubois, Tony Rebel, Shaggy, Farmer Nappy, Lyrikal, Daville, and Laza Morgan.
Marsha’s vocal prowess has afforded her the opportunity to grace the stage and share her musical capabilities.
Currently, Marsha is planning on releasing her first reggae promotional single in 2013 called "My Angel". She will continue to release more singles in reggae, dancehall and soca to showcase her versitility. You may catch her in the studio, on TV, or on stage. Marsha is dedicated to showcasing her culture, talent and inspiring others to embrace their talents and achieve the unthinkable. According to one fan, her "voice is unlike no other and she is an emerging star."
