Karine Martel

Currently enrolled in the BME program at Algonquin College. I aspire to be an entrepreneur in the horse industry.

During my studies and previous work experience, I have gained the knowledge about various methods of management, problem solving and data entry. Most of my studies have been done in French, but I am also fluent in English; I feel that bilingualism is an asset for any job.

I have been a volleyball player for the past 8 years and have experience up to the college level. I played for the Algonquin Thunder Female Volleyball team from 2013-2014. As a coach for various volleyball teams, I have acquired good organization and communication skills.

My passion is western horseback riding and I love having the ability to introduce people to my sport. I have over 10 years of experience in competitions and have won many belt buckles in various events of gymkhana. I am a smiling person with strong interpersonal skills.

I started this summer using my experience in barrel racing to help others achieve their goals by offering lessons. I am now in the process of starting my own company in basic horseback riding, barrel racing and pole bending.

I would love to have a company in equine therapy, either massage and rehabilitation for horses, or therapy for people with horses. I want to share the beauty of my sport and the incredible bond people have with horses.
