Martha is passionate about companioning others who are experiencing significant life transitions. Using her own life experience, she brings an honest and earthy voice to the joy and grief present in the process of life-change. She seeks to gently inspire those who are integrating life-change with their spiritually. Witty and insightful, Martha shares her everyday wisdom with compassionate awareness and a reflective understanding of the human soul. She received her Master of Arts in Theology and Certificate in Spiritual Direction from St Catherine University.
With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University, Martha's chosen career field lands in the area of marketing, communications, and community relations. In this capacity, she serves two programs of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJ), St. Paul Province: Sarah's... and Oasis for Women and Wisdom Ways Center for Spirituality. She is, among other things, a mother, a spiritual director, an advocate for human rights, a teacher, a writer, and a frequent contributor to various blogs.
During the last ten years, it has been Martha’s joy to serve those who are vulnerable in our community by promoting public mindfulness and inspiring those who are able to move from observation to participation and engagement regarding the challenges of hunger, homelessness, and other social justice issues. Her goal is to live in gratitude and make a difference in at least one person’s life each day.
