Martie Ogborn

- I exuded positivity at the young age of ten when I started a “Let’s Have Fun Club” crafting with neighborhood kids in Lincoln, IL. Over a professional life of 40 years I took my enthusiasm into several different fields. My two favorites are transportation and communication. As Director of Safety and Recruiting I trained truck drivers at Cox Transfer for seven years. An opportunity to shift gears came and I joined the web design team at Caterpillar, Inc. Therefore, I can say I am at home on the interstate or the internet. Based on cutting-edge discoveries in the field of Positive Psychology I have taken what I learned from my life and careers and combine those experiences with my philosophy “Positivity Propels.”

- I expanded my fascination with communication when I joined Toastmasters in 2002 while working at Caterpillar, Inc. Toastmasters brought the world to me through the fascinating people I met and the communication workshops I conducted for over 500 Caterpillar employees.

- I am now enjoying retirement and the continuing experience in Toastmasters which challenges me to improve my communication and leadership skills. This phase in life allows me to address community and business organizations on my favorite subjects: Positivity Propels, Teamwork, and Mental Flexibility.

- My husband Jerry and I have been married since 1969; we have two terrific sons, two beautiful daughter-in-laws, and 5 amazing grandchildren.
