Martin Hiles
Funeral Celebrant, Independent Celebrant, and Dorset Celebrant in Wool, United Kingdom
I work closely with you, your family or friends and funeral directors to create a unique and moving funeral service, memorial service or ashes interment. Because I am independent and not part of any faith or belief group I am free to create a non-religious or partly religious ceremony.
I visit you to find out as much as possible about the person who has died, their background, family, friends, work, hobbies, personality, beliefs and what mattered most to them. (I can also do this by phone, email, Skype or FaceTime). We think about any music, songs, poems, hymns or readings you might like.
I then write a tribute (the eulogy) and the order of service and conduct the ceremony at a crematorium, chapel or special place you have chosen.
It can often be recorded and webcast. As celebrant I speak for you and I encourage family or friends to participate and support them, as it often helps those closest to feel that they are involved.
The ceremony should be genuine and uplifting and true to your beliefs and values. I aim to reflect the essence of the person's character and how they touched the lives of others - that is what matters most.
The ceremony should bring some comfort on the day and also in the future as you look back and remember it. I hope this helps you through your grief and towards healing https://www.dorsetcelebrant.com
