Martin Roskelly

I was born in South Africa from an British father and South African mother, who themselves have long and interesting histories!

Work-wise, my current engagements include working with several companies: SoftwareONE, KunyeSolutions, Paringa, Lawtech AI, VWM Capital, Novartis, etc. to help them build strong security and operational efficiencies.

This work includes the architecting / engineering (Design, build and deploy) of Security Operation Centres, Privacy solutions, business development, AI tooling for lawtech, fintech, etc and operational process management tools.

Additionally I am also designing and deploying privacy solutions and DLP (Data Loss Prevention systems and policies) for large companies and government organisations.

I am the COO of Paringa LTD, a company specialising in Data and content privacy solutions together with managed Cybersecurity solutions for our customers.

I also am the CIO and co-owner of 42point5 LTD, a company specialising in business intervention. Our work is mainly centred in turning around enabling manufacturing businesses to be more profitable. It is hugely satisfying!

I have also enjoyed working as an Enterprise Account manager in the past for a number of businesses ranging from Cyber security to big data and deep analytics vendors. I get a kick out of closing a deal :-)

My market strengths include deep understanding of business and technology.

As for my personal life, I have lived in Japan, USA, South Africa and in the United Kingdom and travel extensively on business. I am happily married and have 2 fabulous daughters who are growing up way too fast!

I speak English and Afrikaans, which in turn means I can speak Flemish and can follow Dutch conversations (slowly!).

My personal choice in music, arts and entertainment is wide and varied, and I enjoy socialising with friends and family. Traveling with my family is one of the great pleasures that I appreciate in my life.

I enjoy taking to the sky in a glider but do not often get the time to do this :-(

Being a closet geek, I also tinker (quite a bit) with technology - everything from a Raspberry Pi to large scale AI systems and write programs (in all manner programming languages) on my mac - there are several of them dotted about the house!
