Martin Holden
I am from Wigan in England, Lancashire born and bred with a lifelong love of bikes and outdoor sports.
I love challenges and getting involved and that has lead to a very exciting life so far !
In 1994 I completed Lands End to John O'Groats, which is from the very most northern tip of the UK to the very most southern tip, a journey of 1000 miles and I did this on a mountain bike in 9 days.
I started my sporting career as an amateur Great Britain rugby league international and then signed as a professional Rugby League player for Oldham RLFC playing a couple of games in the Super League in the 90's before injury forced my retirement.
After rehab and many years out of competitive sport I then took up the sport of triathlon in 2007 and have now completed 4 Ironman Triathlons.
I own an insurance business to keep the wolf from the door and I own and run a youth cycling team and have recently set up a community cycling club in the village where I live.
I am married to Anne and we have three young sons.
I have a big belief in living for the "here and now" .... and doing it with a smile on my face !!!
