Boiling Springs, PA
I was born and raised in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, a small town named for the natural, artesian, well springs located in and around the village. Boiling Springs is located near the halfway point of the Appalachain Trail and is famous for the fly-fishing that takes place annually along the banks of the Yellow Breeches Creek. I live here with my husband, Brian, and two sons. Many people have asked why I remain in Boiling Springs. The truth is, I've never found anywhere else that I'd rather live. It is a beautiful community and one that has always felt like home. The village has helped to raise my sons, and I am happy to say that they too have returned home to raise their own children.
Currently I teach K-8 English as a Second Languge in Boiling Spring's rural school district. We have a small but diverse ESL population, mostly due to the enrollment at Carlisle's Army War College. These children arrive annually and typically stay for one year while their fathers or mothers attend the War College. The War College students are a welcome addition to my classroom as it brings an element of diversity to our community.
