Martin Dunaway

Martin Dunaway is well known for transforming underperforming stores into profitable enterprises. Martin Dunaway was only 11 years old,when he started his first job as cleaning, mowing lawns, installing insulation and painting houses.When he was 16, he started stocking shelves at a grocery store. Martin Dunaway worked hard, and listened closely, and when he turned 18, his determination paid off and he became Assistant Store Manager. Martin Dunaway demonstrates that people can succeed through hard work and determination. When Martin Dunaway started his career in retail, he thought he would never need to draw upon these skills again. As it turns out, he was able to use these skills as a United Way volunteer. Martin Dunaway works in the food retail industry, and he has close ties to his town Texas and to the community at large. When Hurricane Rita hit in 2005, Martin Dunaway opened up his store for churches and for the Red Cross. He donated thousands of dollars in food and supplies to help people who had been hard hit by the storm, and he never asked for a public thank you. In 2011, when fires struck Texas, Martin Dunaway once again provided food and assistance to those in need. In the end, he donated well over $90,000 in product to churches and the Red Cross, to help people who were devastated by the storm. During his 20+ years on the job in the retail food market, he was named Store Manager of the Year in 2003 and 2005, and he was named Merchandising Award Winner in 1994, 1996 and 1998. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hobbies: Reading Books, Golf, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer.
