Greetings, my name is Joe Martinez Apparently, I have to tell you about myself. I'm a middle aged man who isn't particularly enamored with this sort of thing. I'm a native of Granite City, thus my corpse will eventually be a Superfund site. If we are ever stranded together in a situation requiring cannibalism for survival, don't choose me. I have more heavy metal in me than a lead smelter. Physically, I'm in dreadful shape and feel pretty beat up at this point. I'm an odd duck with eclectic tastes. I think Glenn Greenwald is a hero. I lived in Chicago for 20 years. I'm very blunt and must constantly fight my deep bend toward cynicism. Humanity disappoints me at every turn, but I'm also terrified of the inevitable destruction of our economy and society by automation and artificial intelligence. For some reason, people tend to find me incredibly funny. My obsessions include climate science, current events, and pondering the future. I like combat sports and antiques. I spent most of my career in corporate sales and business management. I am looking to finish my career in education in order to do something positive for our society after a life spent largely failing in the pursuit of wealth. My wife and I are expecting a second son in April!
