Martin Milner

Born in Derby, England I grew up in the easternmost suburb of Spondon. After gaining 4 "A" Levels (UK) I went to Huddersfield Polytechnic (now University) where I continued my love of French and Geography, spending a year teaching English in Lycee Foch in the Massif Central town of Rodez. After Huddersfield I trained to be a Teacher of French in Cardiff, south Wales. My first job was in Hastings and subsequently in Bexhill-on-Sea. After the south-east I studied database design and technology at Rugby (East Warwickshire College) and secured a job as a Technical Writer for West Wiltshire District Council's Computer Section in Trowbridge, Wiltshire for whom I worked for 11 years writing manuals and designing and delivering training courses. In 1997 I was a member of CompuServe and used to conduct English-language general knowledge pub quizzes. It was here that I met my American wife to be, Allison. In 1998 I moved to the United States and have now been married to Allison for 12 years. In 2002 we adopted our son from Russia, which involved a very interesting trip to and from Siberia (and specifically the city of Krasnoyarsk). At the moment I am learning as much about Little League baseball as Owen since, to be honest, I am more naturally focused on football (european style), cricket and rugger. I have always been interested in French and France and all types of music and am currently trying to write a book about the subject covering the fifties through to the present day.
