Hello my name is Martin, pleased to meet you! Thanks for taking the time out to find out more about me and my project.
I come from a background of computer game sound design and development, incorporating music composition, direction and production.
Having spent nearly 2 decades working for large developers and publishers in the games and music industries, I decided to set my entrepreneurial spirit free!
I have always railed against the way the music and games industry in general conduct their business, limiting and boiling down creativity to what a marketing or an accounts department can sell via focus group testing.
I'm not naive enough to think I can change those industries, but I've always thought the business of selling artistic product as something less restrictive and blinkered, with a tilt towards nurturing creativity, rather than bleeding ideas dry, regardless of cost to the projects integrity and the artists well being.
So after many horror stories of artists working their back sides off, just for the chance of scraps from the table, I decided to raise my head above the parapet and designed HOTSTAR.
Surely there must be a better way to sell your work without selling your soul? And while we're at it...have some fun doing it?!
