Martin Xavier Melendres

Hello everyone! I am Martin Xavier H. Melendres, a music student from the University of Santo Tomas. I am a former member of the San College Alabang Symphony Orchestra, I was the principal tuba player for 7 years. I have played in various events and places in the Philippines. Including our very own Culture Center of the Philippines.

Now, I am third year student at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, currently studying Bachelor of Music Major in Music Education Tuba Emphasis. I am a current member of the University of Santo Tomas Wind Orchestra.

I achieved my student goals, which is to become a tuba player and to study in UST. My next goal is to teach and inspire the next generation about their passion and their discipline in music. I want to integrate to them that music is a profession, a career and it is not just a hobby.

As Kobe Bryant said, “It doesn’t matter WHAT you do. What matters is HOW you do it. That applies to every job. And that’s the Mamba Mentality.” With this, I am doing what I am doing, to study music and one day to travel abroad to inspire the youth.
