Martyn "Nero" Ellis

Martyn Ellis (aka "martynero" .... or just "Nero") has been through many twists and turns in his musical career since his early teens ... writing and performing original jazz/funk instrumentals with various bands leading on to touring the UK as lead guitarist in the legendary soul band Chairman of The Board; then into The Realistics, touring Germany; then a stint with rock band Dirty Money... fame and fortune beckoned... but ultimately proved fickle and elusive first time around!

Later - once marriage and children forced him to get a "proper" job (Nero in his alter ego Martyn Ellis is the owner of financial advice business Marlow Wealth Management} he kept his hand in, playing and singing in various semi-pro function bands throughout the South East.

Now, with children grown up, his music career is enjoying something of a renaissance; as well as standing in on guitar for top covers band Sir Duke, Nero also "deps" with various other covers bands on guitar and/or vocals; he is re-establishing himself as a composer and producer for film/ad/TV music and he is currently co-writing, recording and producing an album with the upcoming and extremely talented singer/actress/TV presenter Alexandra Legouix and her latin/jazz flavoured band The Sunflowers. The band have played several gigs and festivals and look set for great things... a publishing deal is on the table and radio play is picking up in the UK and internationally, with the band already achieving number one slot in the Indie Charts latin section before the album has even been released!

Everything is looking better second time around... turning the tables, Nero is also about to start co-presenting a new music show on Marlow FM 97.5 on Tuesday evenings and he is using that to help promote and develop new local talent.

With his vast experience of different musical genres, Nero is now hoping to give something back: "I've got so much from music throughout my life", he says, "and I just love playing, even if my career has not always gone the way I wanted it to... so, if I can use my knowledge and experience to help others develop, then that would be an achievement in itself..."

But his own career is still very much on the up... watch this space!
