Maruska Albertazzi

A native of Bologna, Italy, Maruska Albertazzi has led an international career that has taken her across Europe and to the United States. Maruska Albertazzi speaks French, Italian, Spanish, and English, and she has served in the role of writer, reporter, and actress.

Initially attracted to acting, Maruska Albertazzi took two years of drama classes as well as regular singing lessons while completing her postsecondary studies in communications. Maruska Albertazzi also worked in roles on several television and stage productions during her time at the University of Bologna. Maruska Albertazzi appeared in documentaries, short films, and theatre plays.

Upon graduation, Maruska Albertazzi moved to the United Kingdom, where she studied at the Actors Centre of London. This further training gave Maruska Albertazzi the experience to perform in high-profile productions in Italy upon her return. Notably, Maruska Albertazzi held the title role of Salome in a production by Teatro dell’Opera in Rome.

Around this time, Maruska Albertazzi also began work on her first novel, Io sono una Tigre (I am a Tiger). The fictional story of a young Italian girl who studies in the United States, Io sono una Tigre is based partially on Maruska Albertazzi’s childhood experiences. She is currently working on a second novel as well as a screenplay.

Maruska Albertazzi entered the journalism profession in 2005 as an interviewer and reporter for E! Entertainment International. In this role, Maruska Albertazzi attended major film festivals in Venice and in Rome, interviewing celebrities and famous actors from Italy and abroad.

As of 2009, Maruska Albertazzi has launched a freelance career as a journalist. She writes a column for a popular Italian magazine and maintains a website. Maruska Albertazzi lives in Rome.
