- Maruwa
Pharmacist, Researcher, and Student
I’m Maruwa, a licensed pharmacist from Bangladesh and a Master’s student in Translational Medicine at the University of Helsinki (Translational Research track).
I hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Professional) from North South University, where my thesis explored genetic risk factors of colorblindness in Bangladeshi youth, reflecting my early interest in molecular genetics and public health.
Alongside this, I have built interest in machine learning, bioinformatics, and systematic review methodologies, helping me to apply data-driven approaches to biomedical challenges.
My professional experience spans clinical, community, and industrial pharmacy through structured internships at Popular Medical College Hospital, NSU Model Pharmacy, and Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. These roles gave me hands-on exposure to patient counseling, prescription safety, drug formulation, and quality control.
Currently, I serve as a Junior Research Collaborator at ABCD Laboratory, Bangladesh, working on translational and computational research projects at the intersection of drug discovery, bioinformatics, and precision medicine.
I’m passionate about bridging laboratory science with clinical application, and I welcome opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary research that drive innovation in healthcare.
