Mary Elizabeth Hicks is the Vice President and Co-Founder of 501(c)3 non-profit organization Heartfelt Fashion, Inc., a full-time student, and a part-time sales associate. Majoring in English and minoring in Communication Studies, she anticipates graduating from Winthrop University in the spring of 2021. In addition, she is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and recently started the process of becoming an Opinion Editor at The Johnsonian. Also a social justice advocate, she is currently writing a book titled “Popping the Bubble,” centered around awareness of white privilege and racial inequality. Mary’s main goal is to impact her community by using writing as a tool and platform to raise awareness about injustice, as well as mentoring and inspiring at-risk youth to become effective leaders.
