Mary Ockendon

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

I was born to English parents in the City of London, but am a country girl at heart, having spent most of my childhood in a small fishing village, named Falmouth in County Cornwall.

I attended St Mary's Catholic primary school until age 11, then spent 1 year at Falmouth Girls Grammar, before emigrating with my parents and siblings to Australia.

Luckily, I survived the ups and downs of adolescence and life in a new country.

Not long after my 21st birthday, I met the man who was to become my life partner, and we married the same year.

I believe in honesty and fairness, and showing kindness to all those I meet regardless of their circumstance. My nature is on the sensitive side, and I cannot bear cruelty of any kind.

My interests include, choral singing, jewellery making, and assisting with the development of young children.

My current family consists of my husband, mother, and 5 siblings - 2 brothers and 3 sisters; 18 nieces and nephews, and 10 great nieces and nephews.
