Mary Adams

I am the co-author of Intangible Capital: Putting Knowledge to Work in the 21st Century Organization and the founder of Smarter-Companies. I am passionate about the need for the for companies leverage their intangibles for greater innovation and prosperity.

My prior experience includes a 14-year career as the founder of Trek Consulting and a 15-year career as a high-risk lender at Citicorp and Sanwa Business Credit. The balance of “hard” skills that I learned as a lender and the “soft” skills I learned as a consultant helps me be me.

I grew up mostly in New Mexico. After that, I lived in Latin America and on the West Coast until I settled in the Boston area with my husband--who is also my business partner, co-author of two books, co-parent of two boys, fellow wanderer and best friend--Michael Oleksak. I love to cook, run, kayak, read and travel.
