marya errin jones

My name is Marya Errin Jones. For the better part of my life I have charted my own unique path of work, knowledge and learning-- not over paved, prepared roads but through the thickets and brambles.

When I was 21, I earned an internship at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. At 31, I was performing original, ensemble theatre in Budapest.

At 41, I climbed a medieval hill on an ancient island in the Hebrides off the craggy coast of Scotland in November because how could I not? Between personal explorations, I've run successful marketing campaigns, founded a literary festival, five years running, taught performance art to non-actors, produced over 100 music events for fellow artists, started an independent, 200-zine, mobile pamphlet library that I hand-delivered to the National Library of Sweden to add diversity to their collection. I learned to knit. I dive in to what i want to know, and what I learn benefits all who encounter me.

Four years later, I ditched my car in favor of riding bicycles as my main mode of travel-- now I am discovering that riding a bike in the US is a radical act. A DANGEROUS act-- and I want to change that using my creative life as a catalyst. I'm a writer, a social media manager, a performing artist, a musician and above all, fully human.
