Maryanna is currently a PhD candidate at the Stanford University School of Education. Her research investigates the ways individuals participate in and learn from creative collaboration. Her research findings have implications for both work settings – how to build communities that support creativity and positive group experiences – and educational settings – how to engage students in learning opportunities that build 21st century skills.

Since leaving her home in Alabama, Maryanna has constantly been on the look-out for opportunities to tie together art, design, and science – from learning the art and science of film production at Northwestern to developing programs, curricula, and media with Psychologists and NGOs. Additional previous projects include the design and development of Public Health programs and media, including HIV/AIDS psycho-educational materials and curricula in the Caribbean, US, and Ethiopia and web 2.0-based mental health programs for children.
